Carrying the engine and vibrator across a wetland at Grand Traverse Bay, MI.Purpose
The purpose of this research program is to reconstruct physical limits and timing of past Great Lakes water levels. We hope to create detailed paleo lake-level hydrographs that can be used to predict future lake levels and to be used as proxy for paleoclimate. This program is funded by the U.S. Geological Survey, Great Lakes Science Center (Global Climate Change Program) to the Indiana Geological Survey at Indiana University and is under the oversight of Dr. Douglas A. Wilcox (USGS/BRD).
