Who We Are:
This list is for people who are interested in keeping the various brackish and estuarine fishes available in the fish trade (plus those we manage to collect ourselves). We are mostly not experts in the field and use this list to share our successes and failures so that others can learn from our experiences. This list is also for people who simply want to share their joy in this backwater corner of the fishkeeping hobby.
Thanks to the hard work of Neale Monks and several other contributors, our extensive FAQ (which continues to grow, so keep checking to see what's new) has been expanded into a new book published by TFH, Brackish-Water Fishes: An Aquarist's Guide to Identification, Care, & Husbandry (2006), ISBN 0793805643. It contains lists of the brackish water fishes we know of or collectively have had experience with and the tank setups we have had the most success with. We share a lot of information concerning the care and feeding of fish on the list and some of that is also collected in the FAQ. You can access the Brackish Water FAQ below:
If you have problems connecting to one version of the FAQ, try the other and send me a message so that I can look into the problem. Again, I want to point out that any information you get from this list comes from our own experience. Your mileage may vary.
Good luck, and thanks for your interest.
