I am a PhD candidate in the English Department at Indiana University, specializing in Victorian literature. I'm still trying to write the prospectus for my dissertation but I think it'll be something about how construction of the self is connected to representations of city spaces in Victorian literature.

I graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in English and a B.Mus. in Doublebass Performance in 1989. I've been a member of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra bass section for several years.

The Student Building has a carillon in it and is also the home of my favorite computer lab, so I end up hanging out there a lot. This is what much of the IU campus looks like... [IMAGE]

I also maintain the Web site for the GradGrants Center, an office on campus that helps graduate students find sources of external funding. The GGC's home page offers info about the Center, plus access to our bimonthly newsletter, the Grad GrantLine, which lists lots of funding sources and articles about what's going on at the GGC, all edited by yours truly.

If you'd like to subscribe to the GGC's newsletter, send e-mail to the GradGrants Center.

In my current incarnation as a starving graduate student I also work at the Bicycle Garage where I sell bikes and accessories. I also love cycling. Here I am after riding my bike to Nashville, Indiana: [IMAGE]

Interested in cycling and/or bicycles? Take a look at my Bike Info page.

Frequently requested Recipes will tempt your palate. I've also created a non-definitive list of some of my favorite Bloomington, Indiana Restaurants.
